USDT to BRL converter: live Tether price in reais

Quick answer

1 USDT is worth roughly what 1 US dollar is worth in Brazilian reals, because USDT is designed to track the dollar. The converter below shows the live average rate in both directions. The amount you actually receive will be a little lower once your platform's spread and fees are taken off.

How the USDT to BRL rate works

USDT (Tether) is a stablecoin designed to hold a value of one US dollar. So the USDT to BRL rate is, in practice, close to the US dollar to BRL exchange rate. When the dollar strengthens against the Brazilian real, USDT buys more BRL; when it weakens, USDT buys less.

The rate in the converter is CoinGecko's average across many exchanges. It's a good reference, but no single platform will give you exactly this price. In Brazil, many people buy and sell USDT with Pix through exchanges and P2P markets. Local prices can drift slightly from the global average, so compare the rate you're offered with the one above.

What you'll actually receive

Turning USDT into BRL usually costs a little more than the headline rate suggests. Four things eat into the result:

  1. The spread: the gap between a platform's buy and sell prices.
  2. The trading fee: often a fraction of a percent per trade.
  3. The withdrawal fee: charged when you move BRL out to your bank or payment app.
  4. The network fee: paid when you send USDT to the platform in the first place. It depends on the blockchain you use.
You receive ≈ amount × rate × (1 − spread − trading fee) − withdrawal fee

Example with made-up numbers: if the spread is 0.5% and the trading fee 0.1%, 100 USDT at the reference rate gives you about 99.4% of the converted amount, before any fixed withdrawal fee.

Our network fee calculator shows what the sending fee costs as a share of your amount. Small conversions are hit hardest: a fixed fee of a few dollars matters on 20 USDT, much less on 1,000.

Which network to send USDT on

The same USDT exists on several blockchains, and you must send it on a network your platform supports. TRC-20 (TRON) transfers are usually cheap, ERC-20 (Ethereum) fees vary with demand, and BEP-20 (BNB Smart Chain) sits in between. Sending on the wrong network is the most common way people lose stablecoins. Our guides to USDT TRC-20, USDT ERC-20 and USDT BEP-20 explain how to check before you send.

Is USDT always worth $1?

It's designed to be. Tether says each token is backed by reserves and publishes figures on its transparency page. In normal markets USDT trades within a fraction of a cent of $1, but it isn't a bank deposit, and its price has moved further away from $1 during stressed markets. Frequently asked questions

How much is 1 USDT in BRL today?

The converter at the top of this page loads the live average market price each time you open it. Because USDT tracks the US dollar, 1 USDT is worth about the same as 1 USD in Brazilian reals.

Why is my exchange's USDT to BRL rate different?

The rate here is an average across many markets. Each platform has its own buy and sell prices (the spread), and many charge a trading fee and a withdrawal fee on top. P2P prices can also include a premium or discount depending on local demand.

Is USDT always worth exactly 1 dollar?

It's designed to be, and Tether says each token is backed by reserves. In normal markets it trades within a fraction of a cent of $1, but it has moved further away during periods of stress. It's a stablecoin, not a bank deposit.

How do I convert USDT to BRL?

Most people sell USDT for BRL on an exchange that supports BRL withdrawals, or on a P2P marketplace, then withdraw to a bank or payment app. Send your USDT to the exchange on a network it supports (for example TRC-20 or ERC-20) and check the deposit address and network carefully first.
