Vision (VSN) and the Vision Wallet: How Bitpanda's Token and Prediction Markets Work

Quick answer
Vision (VSN) is the ecosystem token connected to Bitpanda, the European crypto broker. It is used for staking, governance and fee discounts, and the Vision Wallet adds mobile prediction markets where you buy yes or no positions on real-world events. Prediction markets are close to betting: prices reflect crowd probability, correct positions pay out and wrong ones go to zero.
| Token | VSN (Vision) |
|---|---|
| Backer | Bitpanda ecosystem (Austria) |
| Uses | Staking, governance, fee discounts, launchpad access |
| Prediction markets | Yes or no positions on sports, politics, markets, culture |
| Supply management | Periodic buyback and burn events |
| Key risk | Event outcomes are binary: wrong calls settle at zero |
What is Vision (VSN)?
Vision is the token at the centre of Bitpanda's Web3 push. It replaced the older Bitpanda Ecosystem Token (BEST) and is designed to be used across Bitpanda's products: staking rewards, governance votes, trading-fee discounts and access to token launches. It is listed on several international exchanges as well as on Bitpanda itself.
Part of the ecosystem's fees is used for buybacks and token burns. Burns reduce supply, but they only support price if real demand for the token exists, so look at trading volume and usage, not just burn announcements.
How Vision Wallet prediction markets work
A prediction market turns a question, such as "Will team A win the final?", into a tradable contract. The price of a YES share moves between 0 and 1 (or 0 and 100 cents) and roughly reflects the crowd's view of the probability.
- You pick a market and choose YES or NO.
- Prices move in real time as other users trade.
- You can sell before the event ends to lock in a gain or cut a loss.
- When the result is known, correct shares pay the full amount and incorrect shares pay nothing.
The Vision Wallet presents this in a phone-first app with fiat on-ramps, so users don't need prior crypto experience.
The maths: price equals implied probability
If a YES share costs 0.40, the market is saying there's about a 40% chance the event happens. You only make money over time if your own estimate is better than the crowd's after fees. That is the same edge problem we cover in our chance calculator: a fee or spread works like a house edge, and you need to beat it consistently to profit.
Staking VSN
The Vision app shows staking options with advertised annual reward rates. Staking rewards are paid in VSN, so their value in dollars depends on the token price. A 10% reward on a token that falls 30% still leaves you behind.
Regulation note
Prediction markets are treated as gambling or as regulated derivatives in many countries. Availability depends on where you live, and the rules are changing quickly in both Europe and the US. Check that the product is legal for you before you use it.
Main risks to know
- Binary outcomes: a wrong prediction loses the whole stake.
- Staking rewards are paid in a volatile token.
- Burns don't guarantee price support without real demand.
- Prediction markets may be restricted or treated as gambling where you live.
Frequently asked questions
Is Vision the same as Bitpanda?
No. Bitpanda is the company and broker; Vision (VSN) is the ecosystem token used across its Web3 products.
How do prediction markets pay out?
Each correct share pays the full value (for example 1 USD) when the event is settled; incorrect shares pay zero.
What is the VSN burn?
A scheduled removal of tokens from circulation, funded partly by ecosystem fees, which reduces total supply.
Is a prediction market gambling?
Legally it depends on your country. Mathematically it works like a bet: you need to beat the crowd's probability after fees to profit.
